Emergency Veterinarian

Michelle Brumm, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian who joined the MedVet Columbus team in June 2019.

Dr. Brumm earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in business from Wittenberg University followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, she began the two-year Emergency Clinician Mentorship Program at MedVet Columbus, which helped expand her medical knowledge base, as well as further develop the soft skills of being a veterinarian, such as empathic communication. Dr. Brumm is the current director of the mentorship program at MedVet Columbus. She is heavily involved in training new graduates, which she finds extremely rewarding in addition to maintaining knowledge of the newest developments in the profession of veterinary emergency medicine.

Dr. Michelle Brumm is passionate about all aspects of emergency medicine and has a particular interest in acute, life-threatening diseases. One of her favorite parts of practicing veterinary medicine is using low-stress handling techniques with patients and communicating in a way that reduces the stress level of their owners to help them get through difficult situations. She is very passionate about ensuring clients have a thorough understanding of their pets’ condition and providing all options for treatment.

When not in the hospital, Dr. Brumm enjoys working on home renovations, spending time outside with her dog and husband, spoiling her nieces and nephews, caring for her innumerable houseplants, and traveling to national parks as well as internationally.
