Ema M. Blumhagen, DVM, Diplomate, ACVS (Small Animal), is a Board-certified Veterinary Surgeon at MedVet Vancouver. She joined our team in 2024.
Dr. Blumhagen earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of the Holy Cross. She completed a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Blumhagen then pursued a small animal medicine and surgery internship at MSPCA-Angell Animal Medical Center. Additionally, she completed a surgery internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego and a surgery residency at The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center.
Dr. Blumhagen has special interests in wound management, minimally invasive surgery, and orthopedics. Her favorite part of being a veterinarian is providing life-changing surgical care for pets to get them back to pain-free or cancer-free quality lives with their families.
When not saving pets, Dr. Ema M. Blumhagen enjoys running, cycling, and mountaineering adventures with her wife and family.
