Bianca J. Hartrum, DVM, is a veterinarian who is Practice Limited to Diseases of the Animal Eye. She has been a part of the team since 2021 and joined MedVet Northern Virginia in 2024
Dr. Hartrum attended the University of Georgia where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture and biological sciences. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following earning her veterinary degree, Dr. Hartrum completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition, she completed an ophthalmology internship at Animal Eye Care Associates and spent a year in general veterinary practice in South Carolina. Prior to joining MedVet Northern Virginia, Dr. Hartrum completed a three-year ophthalmology residency at MedVet Columbus and The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Bianca Hartrum has co-authored multiple ophthalmology articles, which were published in Veterinary Ophthalmology. Additionally, she has a special interest in feline ocular disease and cataract surgery. Dr. Hartrum’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is educating families on their pet’s ocular disease and potential treatment options, as well as seeing the joy of formerly blind pets and their families reunited following the restoration of their vision.
When away from the hospital, Dr. Bianca Hartrum enjoys the beach, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her husband and cats: Emmett, Henry, and Arwin.
