Alyssa M. Matos, DVM, is a is a veterinarian who is Limited to the Practice of Surgery at MedVet Chicago. She has been a part of the team since 2021, and she joined the MedVet Chicago team in 2024.
Dr. Alyssa Matos earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in animal science from Purdue University followed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at the Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center (PVSEC) and a specialty internship in veterinary surgery at both the Veterinary Specialty Center and the Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center. Dr. Matos then completed a three-year surgery residency at MedVet Columbus.
Dr. Alyssa Matos has written on the topic of tibial tuberosity avulsion fractures and platelet rich plasma for elbow medical compartment disease. She has a special interest in thoracic and hepatobiliary surgery. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is improving the quality of life of pets and their families.
In her spare time, Dr. Alyssa Matos enjoys swimming, cycling, being outdoors, hiking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
