Kirsten Jackson, DVM, MS, Diplomate, ACVIM (Oncology), is a Board-Certified Veterinary Oncologist at MedVet Indianapolis, where she has been contributing since 2024.
Dr. Jackson earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry with a minor in biology and forensic sciences from Purdue University. She then pursued her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. To further her expertise, Dr. Jackson completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital and Referral Center, followed by a four-year residency in Medical Oncology at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine where she also earned a Master of Science degree in veterinary medical sciences from the University of Florida.
Dr. Jackson has a strong passion for oncology, with special interests in electrochemotherapy, hospice/palliative care, lymphoma, and osteosarcoma. Her favorite aspect of practicing veterinary medicine is helping families understand their pets’ conditions and navigating the challenges of a cancer diagnosis. She finds great joy in celebrating additional time with patients who respond well to treatment.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Kirsten Jackson enjoys cooking, crocheting, knitting, and spending time outdoors. She loves rewatching “Star Wars” and “Harry Potter” movies, as well as “The Office.” Dr. Jackson also cherishes moments spent with her two dogs, Porg and Duncan, and her husband, Aaron.
