Kaitlynn C. Ban, DVM, is Residency Trained in Veterinary Anesthesia & Analgesia at MedVet Cincinnati, where she has been a valued team member since 2024.
Dr. Ban earned her Bachelor of Science degrees in accounting and finance from Atlantic Union College, along with post-baccalaureate certificates in biology and chemistry from the University of North Carolina. Driven by her passion for veterinary medicine, she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. To further refine her skills, Dr. Ban completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at BluePearl Veterinary Specialists and an anesthesia and analgesia residency at The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center.
Dr. Ban has a profound interest in all aspects of veterinary anesthesia and analgesia, with a special focus on chronic pain management, critical care anesthesia, continuing education training for team members, surgical oncology anesthesia, and veterinary technician education. She appreciates the unique anesthetic needs of each patient and values the role of balanced anesthesia in giving even the most critical patients a fighting chance. Dr. Ban is also deeply invested in the complexities of multimodal analgesia, which is crucial in post-operative care, geriatric patient care, and palliative care. She has written published articles on anaesthetic management of a dog with a bidirectionally shunting patent ductus arteriosus and concurrent pulmonary hypertension in Vet Record Case Reports, in addition to anesthesia case of the month in the May 2022 edition of the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Dr. Kaitlynn Ban enjoys exploring new coffee shops and bakeries, gardening, hiking, reading, and staying active with PelotonĀ®.
