Lauren Boyd, DVM, Diplomate, ACVIM (SAIM), serves as the Chief Medical Officer for MedVet.
As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Boyd ensures our doctors have the necessary resources, support, and tools to deliver the highest quality, most compassionate specialty and emergency veterinary care to their patients, clients, and referral partners. Along with supporting the team, she’s responsible for the healthy growth of all MedVet hospitals so we can serve more patients. She’s devoted to elevating veterinary leaders through mentorship, training, and by fostering continuous learning.
Dr. Boyd attended The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio for her undergraduate education and then continued at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She next completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Norwalk, CT, followed by a residency in internal medicine at the Animal Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Boyd says that her greatest joy in practicing veterinary medicine is witnessing the transformative power of the human-animal bond. The connections formed between pets and their owners are deeply meaningful and she finds it fulfilling to watch our teams enhance and preserve that special bond.
During her free time, Dr. Boyd enjoys reading, participating in outdoor activities with her family in Michigan, and reining.
