Alexis Cottingham, DVM, is Residency Trained in Veterinary Internal Medicine. She has been a part of the WestVet team since 2018, and she recently joined the WestVet Meridian team when the hospital opened in 2023.
Dr. Cottingham earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Montana State University. After working as a veterinary technician for several years, she obtained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Cottingham then completed a small animal rotating medicine and surgery internship at the University of Minnesota. She then completed an internal medicine residency at Michigan State University.
Dr. Cottingham is passionate about practicing veterinary internal medicine. She is particularly fascinated by diabetes and immune disease. What she loves most about being a veterinarian is forming deep connections with pets in her care and helping them successfully manage chronic illnesses so they can live happy and full lives.
When not helping pets feel better, Dr. Alexis Cottingham spends her time being active with her family and beloved dogs. Together they enjoy fishing, hiking, and boating on Idaho’s many rivers and reservoirs.
